The Church, as a Woman, Composed of Men as Well as Women

When we think of the Church of God as a living organism, we naturally know it is composed of men as well as women. But in our living and life, only a few of us realize that there is order and not confusion in the leading of God’s Spirit within the church being built by Christ, Matthew 16:18.

The church is composed of many members, Romans 12:4-5, are in the flesh, both male and female. By not focusing on things of the Spirit and the intent of Christ building a glorious church, some men as well as woman see themselves made in their own image, not in the image of God. If we are to understand the roles men as well as women are to play in God’s purpose in His building of His Church, we even in the very member body need to understand that we are a dependent people, depending on the life of Christ as the Tree of Life, Genesis 2:9, and we are abiding in the vine, as in the Gospel of John 15:1.

First Things First, Our Husband as Our Maker

Isaiah 54:5, ” For thy maker is thy husband; the Lord of host is His name; and thy redeemer of the holy one of Israel; the God of the whole earth shall he be called. 6, For the Lord hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou was refused, saith thy God.”

We read here that God is the maker of all males and females, and verse 6 refers to both as a woman. Do those who are not called by God to be His many member body know this? No! They are still in darkness and are independent and have no knowledge of God as their potential husband. Why, because they don’t need God, at least not yet. Until God calls them to Himself, they will remain subject to their own devices and living. This darkness to them is the result of Adam’s sin in the Garden of Eden which was passed on to His progeny, Romans 6:15. The choosing of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil as their life and independence of God is contrary to living according to the Tree of Life which is dependence on God. This dependence on God takes time for us to learn. It involves growth, 2nd Peter 3:18. It is not natural and is against our  nature, but it can be learned once we accept Christ as our helper and comforter.

Moses, a Male, To Submit to God as a Woman

Moses was born of a Hebrew mother and was raised in the house of Pharaoh. He was probably as masculine as any man could be. Acts 7:22 tells us that Moses was mighty in words and deeds. In Exodus 2:15, we see Moses taking justice into his own hands by killing an Egyptian who was abusing a Hebrew slave. He then fled to Midian where he settled down. It was at this time, when Moses was forty years old, that he was being prepared by God, Acts 7:23.

God heard the cry of the people in Egypt and instead of sending Moses to rescue the people, God had to first train him for forty years before Moses was to be a useful servant of His. What was the purpose of this forty year waiting period? Was God teaching Moses His law and commands? No! God had to break Moses of his natural life first. The first forty years of his life, Moses was strictly his own man. He did as he pleased. He didn’t need to subject himself to anyone. He was an independent person. Before our conversion, we were all like Moses. We were completely independent. We reluctantly recognized authority starting with our parents, teachers, boss, and so on. We were forced to recognize authority.

Isaiah 54:6 tells us that when God calls, He, as our maker, calls us as a woman.  Moses had to learn to subdue his male strength and learn to be dependent on the leading of God before God could use him. Moses, although a male, had to take on the role of submitting to God as a wife would submit, by completely depending on God as his husband and maker, Ephesians 5:22.

Men and Women in the Body of Christ

If we are to be useful and expect to be used by God in building up of the Heavenly Jerusalem, we need to know where we stand as far as each other in the body, Christ, and God.

1st Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of every woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God.

In the church life, we need to realize that we are all women with God as our husband and maker. We need to prove to God that we are dependent on him. We then are women dependent on our husband. We gave up our independence upon conversion.

Circumstances got the best of Moses because in Numbers 20:11, we read of Moses striking the rock twice. The penalty for his actions was God forbidding him to enter the promised land. His behavior was not as a wife submitting to her husband but raising himself as a male. This was a serious mistake upon the life of Moses. Today, just because we are under grace does not mean that we can usurp God’s government.

Living An Independent Life

If a man or a woman lives an independent life in this age, they are both considered males, as far as God is concerned, that is, totally void of the natural laws of the universe. They both, have no need of anyone or anything. This is one reason for so many divorces or separations in the married life.

Not only do the worldly people live an independent life, but many Christians also live an independent life, separating themselves from the Tree of Life or Vine. Once we leave the age of man and come into the age of God, we should all be in the position of a woman and dependent upon our maker and creator as our husband, looking for him to provide all of our needs. Whether we are males or females, we must live a life that is dependent on God. This is a reason why many Christians have become useless to God. We all need to have a change in our disposition like Moses did to be a useful tool in God’s hand.

Our Head Covering

We read of a disturbing situation in the book of Revelation that is the actual practice being executed by some today in the world who think they are doing the will of God.

Revelation 20:4, and I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgement was given to them; and I saw the souls of them who were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the Word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received  his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

This scripture can be a very scary picture if there is no proper explanation of the word beheaded. To understand this beheading mentioned in verse 4 we need to understand head coverings as far as scripture describes this subject.

In the World that was, 2nd Peter 3:6, Isaiah 14:12-15 tells us that Lucifer violated God’s authority. He usurped God’s government as well as exalted his throne above the stars, angels, of God. He was once dependent upon God but because of his great pride, he became independent of God. God cast him to the earth, changed his name to Satan, and he became God’s adversary. Revelation 12:4 tells us that his tail drew a third part of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. The 1st earth age that 2nd Peter 3:6 describes became destroyed and Peter goes on to tell us of this present earth age, which is now, verse 7.

We are saved by Grace but God will never allow His Kingship, government, and authority to be overthrown again. This is a serious matter.

1st Corinthians 11:3 tells us that the head of Christ is God. When Jesus had His ministry, He only did what the Father did, spoke what the Father spoke, John 17:7-8. Verse 3, also tells us that the head of every man is Christ. Just as the head of Christ is God, Christ is the head of all men, Ephesians 5:23. Continuing in verse 3, we find that the head of every woman is the man, Ephesians 5:22. What does all this mean to those who are in the body of Christ? It means that we are all headless. To be a part of God’s Kingdom, we not only give up our natural life to undergo resurrection, but we also became headless, which means that we are common sense individuals under someone else’s authority. This is God’s government. This is the only way to eliminate our own opinion, disorder and confusion.

Moses, as well as we, need to learn the law of submission before we could be useful to God. We are all under the rule and authority of someone else.

The government order in God’s Kingdom is God, Christ, man, woman, and then children. The arrangement in civil government is somewhat the same. If men as well as women didn’t submit to authority, our life would be total confusion. The police have authority over it’s citizens, the local administrations have authority over the police, a governor or mayor has authority over the local administration and so on. The world does not have a perfect system but with Christ as our authority, we should become submissive to one another, 1st Peter 5:5.

If the body of Christ would learn submission in the Church, husbands and wife’s would have peace with one another, there would be no complaints with the deacons, elders, or pastors who have leadership positions. Without submission, there would be no king or kingdom. There would be no order. everyone would do just as he pleased and when he pleased.

Because of the Angels

1st Corinthians 11:10 For this cause aught the women to have power, Christ or a veil, on her head because of the angels.

When the angels witness God’s authority, administration, or government within the body of Christ, they can’t help but be impressed and want to follow. When we read of the stars of heaven and the sand that is on the seashore, Genesis 22:17, we can understand that scripture is talking about God’s children. God’s intention and work is to save His children by snatching them out of the hand of the god of this world, 2nd Corinthians 4:4.

The order of government has been missing in the universe since Lucifer’s rebellion. God wanted to restore His government in the Garden of Eden, but Adam and Eve rebelled. God’s Church is the only place where God’s government is willingly in place because of the leadership of Christ and His building of His Church.

The Woman to be Taken Out of the Man Again as in Genesis 2

In the Garden, the woman as a companion and wife for Adam was taken out of the man while he slept. In our natural life, all men are born of women, however, scriptures tell us, ” today if we hear His voice”, as Moses did, Exodus 3:4, Hebrews 4:7, while men and women are in a condition of slumber as Adam was, Romans 11:8, the woman, composed of male and female, who depend on Christ as our new way of life, will become the bride of Christ. God’s government will then be restored starting with His glorious Church extending into eternity. We should all pray that we are all women depending on Christ.
